To provide a comprehensive HR service which ensures that all people at the business are equipped with the best practice to perform at the highest level, balancing best practice with commercial pressures. This role is hands on and is required to assist with the management of overall HR operations and the delivery of strategic objectives consistent with the businesses culture.
·Lead HR Projects that support the people plan.
·In conjunction with Heads of Unit and Supervisors manage complex employee relations including dispute resolutions, absence management, disciplinaries, grievances, absence, retirement, and redundancy.
·Responsible for planned absence management, e-days including holiday calculations, bank/public holiday calculations and record management.
·Develop HR policy and procedures to drive performance and mitigate disputes.
·In conjunction with the Training Partner, evaluate learning and development requirements and oversee professional and personal (leadership and management skills) development.Create the businesses learning plan/programme.
·Develop, monitor, review and update all HR policies and procedures in line with the business requirements, legislation and best practice and implement changes where necessary.
·Uphold and enforce the businesses vision and values.
·Participate in the implementation of specific projects, procedures and guidelines to help align the people strategic goals.
·Support change management processes.
·Work with appropriate parties on remuneration and reward strategy.
·Manage annual salary reviews including benchmarking of salaries/salary scales and employee benefit schemes.
·Organising and overseeing individual and team training programmes.
·Developing and implementing employee retention programmes or strategies.
·Ensure legal compliance is met in all HR activities.
·Responsibility for employee Health and Wellbeing within the business.
·Create a people plan aligned to the business strategy/plan
·Identify the people need and work to implement and create an efficient talent acquisition strategy to improve business performance.
·Understanding workforce planning and resource forecasting.
·Anticipating the current recruitment trends, working with Heads of Units to develop effective strategies for identifying skills gaps of the current people and advising on recruitment tactics.
·Provide advice on recruitment and selection strategies.
·Responsible for the recruitment process – this may include writing job descriptions, arranging interviews, preparing interview questions and application forms, attending interviews capturing the information providing a debrief with the Head of Unit involved, making any offers, taking references, and dealing with the recruitment agents.
·Carry out new starter inductions and contractual documentation and leaver interviews at exit.
·Responsible for all promotion applications and process.
·Educated to degree level is desirable but not necessary.
·Proven HR generalist experience.
·Exceptional organisational, IT and communication skills is required together with proven leadership capabilities and solid knowledge of employment legislation.
·Experienced in developing and supporting line managers through change.
·An ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion and diplomacy is crucial.
·Self-motivated and able to work under own initiative or as part of a team.
·Anticipated hours – minimum of 25 hours to a week but can be worked over 4 or 5 days.
