Sales Training Manager (L&D)

This role has the lead responsibility for the total people development plan for all sales functions across the business. The role will be responsible for defining, executing, and evaluating the L&D strategic priorities for each business area, acting as an internal consultant and advisor to the senior leadership team(s), to the HR Director and working in close collaboaration with the Divisional talent team to ensure all content is relevant, cutting edge, consistent and results focused.

 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Define the learning and development (L&D) strategic priorities.
  • Provide L&D specialist expertise to the HR Director and the Sales leadership teams on all aspects of capability building and high-performance development.
  • Overall programme management of the Sales function, including learning pathways, capability matrix mapping, entry level talent programmes, graduate schemes, and targeted high potential development planning.
  • Work in collaborative partnership with the divisional Talent team, ensuring regional input into divisionally led initiatives and ensuring successfully deployed of said solutions within the region – tailoring where required, while remaining consistent with methodology and learning outcomes.
  • Working with the business to form strong collaborative relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders from across the division, including L&D/Talent peers and subject matter experts to ensure all L&D activity is aligned with external best practice.

 

Skills Required

  • Able to build credibility with leaders across the organisation, have a strong commercial acumen.
  • Strategic Planning – defining the overall strategic L&D plan and translating this into short, mid and longer term priorities.
  • Professional, engaging with the gravitas to build strong working relationships and collaborate well with others.
  • Proven ability across all aspects of the learning cycle, with strong experience in the development and implementation of career journeys, competency frameworks and other organisational development interventions.
  • Experience of delivering learning and development initiatives, utilising a variety of interventions to suit differing needs of individuals’ development, and tailoring the content to suit the needs of different sales teams.
  • Experience of budget management
