ER Consultant

Overview

We are looking for an Employee Relations Consultant from a fast pace, high ER volume background to provide commercial and pragmatic ER advice and guidance to – HR Managers, counselling managers and Partners. This comprises of commercially focused people solutions that take into account the businesses strategy, policies/procedures, employment legislation, businesses values and HR best practice.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with managers/ partners in relevant regions as the main point of contact for ER issues
  • Provide pragmatic case management support and advice on all employee relations issues, including (but not limited to): performance development, disciplinary issues, grievance / disputes, sickness absence management and other Ad hoc ER issues (student termination meetings, flexible working requests, working time etc)
  • Provide coaching and educative interventions for managers on employee relations matters
  • Strong understanding of how ER matters impact commercial operations and vice versa
  • Ad hoc involvement in organisational change programme activity
  • Pragmatic application of employment legislation to avoid litigation against the Firm
  • Be an advocate for business, their culture and values and actively demonstrate holding others to account to do the same
  • Support output of ER management information

Requirements

  • Significant Employee Relations experience
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Experience of dealing with complex ER issues
  • Ability to deliver and implement commercially based, pragmatic succinct recommendations/solutions to mitigate ER related risks
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and external best practice trends;
