Senior HR Business Partner

Job Summary

Due to a period of significant growth my client seeks a new business partner to join a growing well established HR team.You will form part of the leadership team and will inspire and support all to adopt and deliver the HR strategy which will support the Business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, gain commitment to and deliver the strategic HR plan in conjunction with the Head of HR
  • Devise and implement succession and manpower plans to support the planned rapid growth of the business
  • Within the context of the business Plan, identify strategies to improve, build and manage the talent development process / programmes, identifying causes of retention to improve performance
  • Provide a commercially focused, legally compliant, generalist HR service to field team
  • Partner with key stakeholders and line managers to engage them in the HR Agenda
  • Build and develop the businesses brand as an ‘employer of choice’
  • Ensure structures and headcount continue to optimise commercial performance.
  • Work with the Talent Acquisition Centre of Expertise develop recruitment strategies, delivering to meet business plans whilst developing new and innovative approaches
  • Influence and shape a positive working climate and management style
  • With Business and functional leaders, ensure high standards of induction, technical training and management development are delivered, thereby supporting both company manpower requirements and individual career development needs
  • Ensure that HR Metrics are delivered, measured, and reported within agreed formats and timescales
  • Manage and control departmental expenditure within agreed budgets
  • Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies, and general duty of care

Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • HR experience in a fast moving, customer facing organisations environment such as retail, leisure, or other service-related sectors with a demonstrable track record of upward progression desirable
  • Leadership and team management experience is desirable
  • Well-developed planning, organising and project management skills
  • Strategic perspective but with a strong operational focus – can manage detail as well as the big picture
  • Very commercial and practical outlook with a track record of business focused decision-making. Delivers quality outputs within the context of business parameters
  • Strong influencing and persuading skills
  • Confident personal style but one which is flexible and open to alternative solutions
  • Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal
  • High levels of pace and energy – all directed to delivering results quickly and measurably
  • Confident and credible at all levels with high personal impact
  • Resilient, particularly when under pressure
  • Able to come up with innovative and creative solutions where the traditional approach may no longer be appropriate
  • Can cope with volume and complexity whilst feeling comfortable and able to deal with rapidly changing plans and priorities
  • Experience of working in a matrix environment would be beneficial
